Restriction to dried marihuana only on the way to Supreme Court of Canada.

In February 25, 2015, the Allard et al v. Her Majesty the Queen trial began in Federal Court. The case challenges the government’s decision to re-criminalize medical cannabis production. Plaintiffs argue that criminally prohibiting their production violates the rights granted by section 7 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Trial is expected to last for three weeks. Kirk Tousaw is working on this file with John Conroy, QC.

Kirk just finished drafting his written argument in this ground-breaking case. The Supreme Court of Canada is scheduled to hear oral argument on March 20, 2015 in Ottawa.
