Never before has there been such a wealth of information and research on the practical, therapeutic and medicinal uses of Cannabis, as well as a growing understanding and acceptance of Cannabis on the part of the general public. However with over 80 Cannabis dispensaries in Vancouver alone, increasing concerns about formal regulation from federal Health Minister Rona Ambrose signal that the future remains uncertain on the path forward. What is needed now is increased community engagement, dialogue, and education.
Three panel discussions will be held to shape further understanding on: the Medicinal Use of Cannabis, Historical, Sacred, and Ceremonial Use of Cannabis, as well as Governmental Policy and Public Activism.
Kirk Tousaw will be on the panel discussion for “Government Policy and Public Activism.”
Date: July 19, 2015
Location: SFU Harbour Center, 555 W Hastings Street
Doors open at 8:30 am; First Panel starts at 9 am
